Issue
This PR adds documentation to help AI coding assistants understand the OSRM codebase structure, build process, and development workflow. This will improve the quality of AI-assisted contributions to the project.
^--- Actually most of this was hand-written except for some help to summarize coding guidelines / fix typos. However I wanted to test if the agent picks up the prompt that tells it to mark the PR as AI-generated when automatically submitting. It did that. 🎉
