As suggested in #676 the parameter handling for the current "interfaces" parameter should be changed. IP and netmask should become a parameter of their own, i.e. instead of "interfaces=X:Y:Z" the syntax shall be changed to "interfaces=X:inet=Y:netmask=Z", using the same terms as ifconfig.
The old syntax will be deprecated but should stay available for some time.
