Simple CBC is a web application that converts technical Complete Blood Count (CBC) lab results into a patient-friendly, interactive dashboard.
Our goal is to reduce confusion around blood test reports and improve health literacy by translating complex medical data into clear, understandable insights.
Built in 3.5 hours at the AI x Healthcare Hackathon hosted by CareTech UCI.
CBC lab reports contain medical terminology, abbreviations, and reference ranges that are difficult for patients to interpret.
Many patients:
- Struggle to understand what their numbers mean
- Cannot easily identify abnormal values
- Feel anxious due to lack of clear explanations
We wanted to make lab results more transparent and accessible.
Simple CBC allows healthcare workers (or users) to input CBC lab values and instantly generates:
- Flagged abnormal values
- Interactive dashboard visualization
- Plain-language explanations
The result is a clear, readable summary designed for patients rather than clinicians.
