What happened:
I wrongly pushed my updated master branch to m17336 fork master, which closed the PR since the branch is identical to FreeRTOS/FreeRTOS master. Now I don't have permission to push to the fork anymore, since no active PR. What I intended was "git push :master"...
This PR addressed the comments in PR #156. The first three commits are from @m17336.

mainSELECTED_APPLICATION0,1,2. Compiles/runs no issue.You'll need to bump FreeRTOS kernel source to at least FreeRTOS/FreeRTOS-Kernel#101 to use the demos.
