If your display is on the smaller side (which isn't all that small, seeing how I'm encountering this issue on a 17" laptop), the high minimum height (roughly 500 px on my device) of the settings panel will make the message panel unusably small (see attached screenshot).

Proposed solution: make the settings panel scrollable so the minimum height can be set much lower.
