This issue was reported by @jimmarino. The leader node doesn't save the schema to disk, but it properly sends the updates to other nodes. Also, changes in properties aren't always replicated.
The issue was in the management of the schema changes. During a transaction, the schema is not saved until the transaction commits, but with replication on, the schema must be sent to the other nodes in any case.
