At this time, floppy disk drive (FDD) support is currently emulated. You will need to provide audio samples from a hard disk drive which can be found on the internet. Does anyone have any idea how adding audio samples from a hard disk drive, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, ZIP drive or magneto-optical drive is all going to work? |

@Domppari Don't know if these samples will be useful to you/if you're already aware of them? Domppari has said previously on our discord that they're working on the HDD sound support. They're the one who did the floppy sound support. No ETA that I'm aware of. |

The SEEK command of the XT MFM/RLL hard disk controller right now finishes instantly, this needs to be fixed. |

Does anyone have any idea when SCSI hard disk sound emulation is going to be added and how can I emulate SCSI hard disk sounds? In the audio settings, all I see is that None is selected. :(

I usually use WD Caviar 21200 in my VMs, so I tried making a test set of sounds for this HDD. I remade it from some real Caviar 21200 video recording. I also noticed that there is a disc stop sound file, but in which scenario does 86Box play it? |

Well, I've gotten a little more comfortable with the audio editing program and made the sounds smoother and removed the "thump." Give it a listen and rate it. If it's suitable, I'll make a pull request in my free time, and the 86Box will finally get a voiceover for the WD Caviar 21200 (which can be enabled for any 5200RPM drive). TEST#2 |

So, I've completely reworked sounds SPINUP, RUNNING, and SEEK. I've more precisely adjusted the start/end of the sound to the waveform phase to eliminate knocking due to dbm transitions. Also, I apologize; in the previous two tests, sound SEEK was incorrect (the sound of the read/write heads abruptly parking when a bad sector was detected). I've replaced it with the correct sound of the head positioning. I've also adjusted the sound length to match the actual random access time of the hard drive (approximately 11 ms). Please rate it, and I'll update the corresponding pull request soon. TEST#3 |

Well... I made a new test set of sounds, but this time for WD Caviar 2540 (4500RPM). Take a look and rate it.TEST#1 |

Can i add the hdd sound support with clicking noise including spinup/spindown and seek when read/write since the 86box emulatoe has no hdd sound so meaning they silent.
