I remember walking with you through the narrow streets of the old city, holding hands, window-shopping and dreaming of our life together. Those were the happiest days of my life.

People who see me in bright daylight run away screaming and hide their children.
No matter. I can work in the dark. I’ll get you all.
“Whenever you hurt someone, kill human or beast, magical or otherwise, whenever you do something monstrous, the monster in you shall show on the outside.”
That was the curse that thrice-damned witch laid on me when I caught her.
Should have killed her right away–
but her screams were so high and her blood was so sweet.

“That changed when he met Flippa, his true love. They married, had many children and instated our empire. Do you know which empire that is?”
