Inter-Library Loan

If you cannot locate a book or periodical to meet your research needs, the library has a service to help: Inter-Library Loan! This means we get copies of items from other libraries for you, at no charge.(students and employees only)

You don't have to know what library owns it, we will figure that out.

How to do it:

Method 1- you found the information in a library database:

• The article/item does not have the full-text available, but you still want it.
• Follow the link/button that says "Check for Full-text in other GHC Databases" This will tell you if it is available in one of our other subscriptions.
• Still no luck? Sign in and you can request an Inter-Library Loan.
• The form will automatically fill the item information and your email that is on file. Add any comments you want for us to know.
• Click Send Request. If we have questions, we'll contact you, so keep an eye on your email!

Method 2- you found the information somewhere else, like a bibliography, etc.

• Fill out the ILL request form.
• This will not automatically fill in, so you'll have to provide all the item details so we can find it.
• Provide information about the item you need: Author, title, journal title, publisher, date, volume, issue, page number, etc.

General Policies and such:

As a student, this service is free of charge, excepting any fines for overdue or loss. Those are set by the lending library, and we will pass them on to you.

Policies regarding ILL items are dictated by the lending library. Due dates, renewals, and sometimes other restrictions, are all applied according to the policy of the library that loaned the item.

A final comment:

Give yourself enough time! It can take a few weeks for the materials to reach our library, so be sure to order early enough in the quarter to allow time for writing your paper.
