Vision

To be the preeminent annual integrated geoscience convention in the world.

Mission Statement

Provide value to the members of our partner societies, sponsors, exhibitors and other delegates by building on past success, striving for future improvement, providing continuity of management and through appropriate governance. This will be accomplished by communicating to member societies, effective marketing and branding, gathering and analyzing relevant statistics and by administering efficiently while providing accountability, initiative and advancement.

GeoConvention Board

The GeoConvention Board of Directors is made up of representation of our three partner societies and provides strategic direction and focus for the Partnership, ensuring diligent representation of the interests of our delegates, supporters and partner societies.

Retired professional geophysicist with almost 4 decades of experience in surface and borehole seismic acquisition and processing, prospect generation, interpretation, seismic data management and mentorship.  Extensive volunteer experience including Chair of the CSEG Foundation, CSEG Mentorship Program,

Parent representation on various Alberta Children’t Hospital boards,  Executive positions on community boards and 20 years volunteering with Scouts Canada 31st Scouts.

Lori Barth is Senior Manager of Geoscience Optimization at Cenovus Energy. She previously held Team Lead and Staff Geophysicist roles at Cenovus Energy, and Senior Geophysicist positions at Athabasca Oil Corporation and EnCana, working on various plays including Southern Alberta conventional oil trends, Northeast BC gas, Alberta’s Athabasca Oil Sands and Saskatchewan Manville trends. For more than 20 years Lori has created value in both development and optimization roles through the utilization of seismic inversions and 4D seismic analysis. Lori believes in the value of comparative analysis, making data driven decisions, and transformational leadership.

Outside of work, Lori volunteers with the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG), and the University of Saskatchewan Alumni Bursary Committee. Lori holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Geophysics from the University of Saskatchewan and is a certified professional member of APEGA.
