Drill bit, still in the hole it drilled, with an alarm system cable.

From the angle it looks like they were using a bit extender and coming down from above with the wall sealed up. Guarantee that it came loose from the extender and got stuck in the hole. It was easier to leave it than to bust open the wall to retrieve it.

It was drilling upwards, using a very long bit and snapped in half.

i thought that looked a bit ‘new’ to have been in there from the original time the house was built.
still … it would be fun to find something really interesting between those walls … sigh. just a lost, broken, drill bit 🙂
