The Story Behind Our Logo

The logo for General Assembly 2026 is rooted in the theme Refresh and visually expresses the constant flow of God’s grace. Inspired by the image of a calm, ever-moving river, the design reflects renewal, rest, and sustenance—gifts God offers freely and continually to those who come to Him.

Throughout Scripture, water is closely associated with rest and restoration. Jesus’ invitation in Mark 6:31, “Come apart and rest awhile,” echoes moments where God draws His people away from busyness into places of quiet renewal. In the same way, the flowing river in the logo symbolizes God’s steady presence—never hurried, never depleted—inviting us to pause, be refreshed, and receive what we need for the journey ahead.

The river is formed using simple geometric shapes and rhythmic patterns, inspired by Kenyan art and design, particularly those that evoke movement, connection, and hospitality. These elements remind us that grace is not static; it moves among us, across cultures and generations, uniting a global movement through God’s sustaining love.

Set against the backdrop of Mombasa, Kenya, GA 2026 becomes a momentary snapshot of this flowing grace—a gathering where leaders and volunteers from around the world step aside from daily demands to rest, reconnect, and be renewed. The logo captures that moment: a visual reminder that amid all we do in ministry, it is God who refreshes us, restores our strength, and sends us forward again, renewed in hope and purpose.
