Code of Conduct
Garuda Hacks values inclusion and equal opportunity for all our participants. A part of that is creating a safe and welcoming environment for fellow participants, committee members, sponsors. In line with these values and more, all hackathon participants and staff members are expected to abide by our code of conduct, including, but not limited to the following:

Please be respectful of other participants and staff members. In fact, use Garuda Hacks as an opportunity to get to know fellow teammates, and even other participants!

Participating in discrimination and or harassment of any kind will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the venue. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination and or harassment stemming from one’s gender, age, race or ethnic identity, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and or political beliefs.

If you or another participant sees or experiences discrimination and or harassment of any kind, please report it to a Garuda Hacks staff member. We will then escalate the issue if necessary

Please refrain from plagiarization. Citing someone else’s work without attributing it to them is considered plagiarism and will result in immediate disqualification.

All participants are expected to maintain decorum throughout the event. Additionally, please be mindful of quiet hours. Participants will be expected to code in the allocated premises if they plan to continue working past 11 P.M.. Anyone found to be in violation of this rule faces penalization and potential removal from the venue.

Any offensive or violent displays (physical or verbal) to other participants, staff members, and or judges will lead to immediate disqualification and removal from the event. Furthermore, we may escalate the issue to our event host and/or the relevant authorities if necessary.

Please clean up after yourself and respect common spaces, as well as spaces allotted to you and your team. Throw away any trash, wipe up any messes, etc. Participating in any property destruction may lead to removal from the venue and potential penalization.

Participating in any crime in and around the venue will lead to removal from the venue and immediate disqualification. This includes, but is not limited to, petty theft, larceny, assault, battery, etc.

Consumption and possession of controlled substances during and around the event is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate removal from the venue and potential disqualification. This includes, but is not limited to: Alcohol, illicit drugs, cigarettes, e-cigarettes (Juul, vape, etc.), as well as drug paraphernalia.

Sexual activity is strictly prohibited within the premises of our event.

For the safety of you and those around you, please refrain from bringing unregistered individuals into the event. Infractions of this rule may result in penalization.

Please only enter sleeping pods assigned to your group. Anyone found to be in violation of this rule will be asked to leave the area and potentially face disqualification.

Garuda Hacks does not assume responsibility for any lost possessions or items throughout the event. Therefore, all participants are encouraged to maintain their own belongings.
Garuda Hacks reserves the right to remove any participant(s) from the event at any time.
General Guidelines
If it’s helpful, think of our code of conduct as a list of “do-nots”. Garuda Hacks also has some general guidelines. Treat them as a list of “dos”!

Teams can register up to 4 members.

Staff members are expected to not participate in the hackathon itself in any way.

Teams are allotted 36 hours for their project. The haking period will begin from 21 July 6 PM and end on 23 July, 6 AM

Garuda Hacks hosts an open-source library and frameworks, which teams are encouraged to make use of!

In addition to restricting plagiarism, teams are allowed to only using content created during the Hackathon itself. Prior content— whether this be ideas, code, etc— should not be used during the event. We check participants’ code to confirm that they abide by this rule

During registration, participants will be asked to present their identification and vaccination information. Please come prepared to the event with the proper documentation, or you may be unable to register.

We want Garuda hacks to be an inclusive place! If you have any feedback or want to see something from the team, let us know!

While we do not maintain strict clothing guidelines and we want our participants to be as comfortable as possible, Garuda Hacks participants are expected to maintain appropriate attire throughout the event. Please dress comfortably but also appropriately!
