Gökotta

“Then sing, ye birds, sing, sing a joyous song!”

~William Wordsworth

Gökotta is the act of rising early on a spring morning to hear the first birds or to go outside to appreciate nature. It is from the Swedish word rooted in folklore. This practice is a peaceful way of connecting with nature in early spring. Watching the sun rise, picking flowers, taking a walk. Do whatever brings you joy on an early spring morning.

The bird pictured here is an American robin (Turdus migratorius).
