The University of Nova Gorica Foundation is the only university foundation in Slovenia; it operates with the aim of developing the educational and research activities of the University of Nova Gorica. In accordance with its purpose, the Foundation provides for:

• Personnel, spatial, and other material conditions for the operation and further development of research and education activities.
• The drawing-up and implementation of study and scientific-research programmes relevant for the promotion of social, economic, technological, scientific, and cultural development.
• Quality education for lecturers and mentors.
• Implementation of state-of-the-art methods and study modes.
• Education resources for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Equipment for research groups and research infrastructure.
• Transfer of technologies and innovative activity development;
• Implementation and development of publishing for study and scientific purposes.
• The raising of awareness and reputation of the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia and abroad.
