FSBUS is a modular hardware-and-software toolkit by developer Dirk Anderseck that connects real cockpit controls to PC-based flight simulators. It pairs lightweight firmware for small I/O boards with a flexible configuration application, allowing home cockpit builders to map simulator events and variables to physical switches, encoders, LEDs, and displays. The result is responsive, bidirectional control and feedback for everything from simple panels to full-scale flight decks.

Key features:

  • Modular architecture: Daisy-chain expansion boards to scale from a few inputs to a complete cockpit.
  • Broad I/O support: Digital inputs, rotary encoders, LEDs, seven-segment displays, and character LCDs.
  • Easy configuration: Assign functions with a visual mapper; no deep coding required.
  • Simulator integration: Works through standard interfaces such as FSUIPC for wide compatibility.
  • DIY-friendly: Documented schematics, firmware, and examples enable customization and replication.
  • Reliable performance: Efficient communication and lightweight runtime help minimize latency.
  • Common use cases: Radios, autopilot/MCP, transponder, annunciators, EFIS, and overhead panels.

Whether you’re building your first radio stack or a complex, multi-panel cockpit, FSBUS provides a proven, community-driven foundation for turning virtual flight into a tangible, hands-on experience.

FSBUS is developed by Dirk Anderseck. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.0. The name of the program executable file is fsbus.exe.
