Welcome

*UPDATE: We are back! After a temporarily hiatus in the setting of significantly increased patient volumes in Nashville as coronavirus cases spiked, we have resumed posting stories and hope to continue posting regularly. Thank you to everyone in Nashville and all around the world who has been wearing masks, social distancing, and overall working diligently to reduce spread of the coronavirus.*

Michelle and Thea are two doctors working on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis.

As doctors, we’ve received a lot of recognition for our work, but we realize that there are other groups that have been forgotten. We want to use our voice to empower our other forgotten soldiers and friends whose lives have been upheaved due to the coronavirus.

In March 2020, we started a fundraising campaign to show appreciation for our Environmental Management Services staff. These people are essential to the work that we do, but their efforts often go unrecognized. With help from our community, we started a GoFundMe and raised over 4x our initial goal. Further, our effort reached local newspapersTV media outlets, and national news (such as NBC and HuffPost).

Backed by the momentum of our initial campaign, we are pivoting to our next project: From Two Doctors. Thank you for following along!

XD,

Michelle and Thea

Storytelling has deep roots in human culture and is almost fundamental to the very concept of human culture itself.

Story telling is almost fundamental to the practice of medicine, as well. The very basis of medicine is in stories–i.e. the “history of present illness,” or the HPI, which constitutes the first part of a patient-physician encounter.

As doctors, we are, by training, story listeners and story tellers. By nature, we, Michelle and Thea, are innovators, creators, designers. Our mission is to tell the stories of people from all different professions and walks of life who have been affected by the COVID19 pandemic. Story telling is not only about entertainment, but it is a matter of survival and of sheer existence. By recreating stories, we build solidarity and remind ourselves what it means to be human.

A Little Bit More About Our Stories:

We have selected individuals from all across the country to represent the impact of coronavirus everywhere it has struck our nation. To each person featured, we will gift them a small “relief package” as a way of thanking them for their contribution to humanity and providing support for them as they continue to traverse the pandemic.

Why We Tell Stories:

To unify humanity

To build empathy

To inspire
