The Freeland YMCA’s Lil’ Dribblers Program is here to help your little one take their first shot—literally! Perfect for kids ages 5–7, this one-hour twice weekly session blends basketball basics with confidence-building play in a warm, encouraging environment. Whether they’re brand new to the game or just love to move, Lil’ Dribblers is all about fun, friendship, and that first swish of success. Scholarships and financial assistance available for all YMCA programs.

The Freeland YMCA continues the tradition of offering year-round basketball programs and leagues for girls and boys of all ages.

Our first Intra‑GWVAY March Madness Basketball Tournament was a huge success! The Wilkes‑Barre YMCA captured the 3rd & 4th grade title, while the Freeland YMCA brought home the 5th & 6th grade championship. We’re already looking forward to growing this great event next season. A Matter of Balance is an evidence‑based program designed to help older adults reduce their fear of falling and increase activity levels. Through gentle exercises, practical strategies, and supportive group discussion, participants build confidence, improve strength and balance, and learn how to stay active and independent in daily life.
