Installation

Automatic Installation

  1. Go to Plugins Add New in your WordPress admin
  2. Search for « AutoAltai »
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate
  4. Go to Settings AutoAlt and enter your email
  5. Click « Create Account » – your API key is auto-configured
  6. Start generating alt texts!

Manual Installation

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file
  2. Go to Plugins Add New Upload Plugin
  3. Upload the ZIP and click Install Now
  4. Activate and configure as above

Is AutoAlt compliant with EAA and ADA?

Yes! All generated alt texts automatically meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, which is the technical requirement behind both the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Are my images stored or used for AI training?

No. Your images are processed once to generate alt text, then immediately deleted. We never store your images or use them for AI training. We use OpenAI and Google AI for processing – only image data is transmitted, no metadata.

Does it work with WooCommerce?

Yes! AutoAlt fully integrates with WooCommerce. Generate alt texts for product images, gallery images, and variation images directly from the product edit screen.

What languages are supported?

AutoAlt supports 100+ languages including: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and more.

I’ve been using AutoAlt.ai on a WooCommerce site and it’s been a real time-saver. It generates alt text in bulk without breaking anything, and I like that I can still do a quick one-off alt text for a single image when I’m editing products. The wording feels surprisingly “human” (not robotic), and the history/edit option is handy when I want to tweak a few later. If you have lots of images and you care about SEO + accessibility, it’s worth it.

Ich bin total begeistert! Ehrlich gesagt, das Plugin ist ein echter Game-Changer. Ich hatte Hunderte von Bildern auf meiner Seite, denen die Alt-Texte gefehlt haben – eine Katastrophe für SEO und die Barrierefreiheit. Ich habe ewig vor mir hergeschoben, das manuell nachzutragen. Autoalt.ai hat mir das alles in Minuten abgenommen. Die Alt-Texte, die die KI generiert hat, sind wirklich erstaunlich gut und präzise. Man merkt, dass das keine 08/15-Beschreibungen sind. Die Einrichtung ist super einfach, und die Funktion, alle bestehenden Bilder auf einmal zu « fixen », ist einfach genial. Klare 5 Sterne und eine dicke Empfehlung!
