At Fox Mountain Guides, we understand the risks inherent in rock and ice climbing, and we take our responsibility for managing those risks seriously. That’s why we work exclusively with professionally trained, certified, and highly experienced guides. Our team is made up of seasoned professionals with deep knowledge of local terrain, changing weather conditions, and the best practices needed to create a safe and rewarding experience in the mountains.

ALL guides and instructors are AMGA certified for the terrain they guide
We are climbing professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional service and the highest quality instruction possible. To support that commitment, we work exclusively with guides who are certified by the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). Our guides also operate within the AMGA’s Scope of Practice, meaning they guide only in the terrain and disciplines for which they are formally trained and certified.
In the United States, there is no legal requirement for climbing guides to hold a certification. However, we believe that pursuing professional certification is an important responsibility for anyone working in the mountains. While other organizations offer guiding credentials, we recognize AMGA certification as the professional standard in the United States and one that is respected internationally.
