The Fotomatic filter set has been created specifically with the novice digital artist in mind. When installed, seven new options will appear in your photo editing software plugin menu, which will give quick access to the most commonly used tools for enhancing photos, thus eliminating the steep learning curve normally associated with programs like Adobe Photoshop and Corel.
All the filters simulate traditional, non-digital photographic effects for enhancing photos, from monochromatic grain effects, night-vision simulation, to the SkyGrad filter for tinting the sky area of a photograph, ideal for the beginner photographer who wants to start dabbling with digital editing.
The filters are very easy to use, but the interface does lack a tad. For example, the preview window cannot be resized and the effect cannot be previewed directly on the photo that is being edited.
The Fotomatic filter set does not boast intricate, true simulation of traditional photographic effects, but rather acts as a stepping stone for those who want to take their photography skills to the next level.
