I guess I must finally finish that game.
-
Should be. I mostly play IWDEE, but I had no problem installing TR on my BG2EE with both Ascension and Anthology. Infinity UI++ should work fine too, but I don't use it much in my games right now.

Good to hear thanks.

Steam is fine. But the stand alone installers you get from places like GOG have binaries built with old dependencies. Don't know about this new patch (the release notes I saw had no mention of updated Linux builds), but IWDEE 2.6.6.0 does not work on newer distros like the latest Ubuntu unless you include your own…

As the patch is mostly Apple compatibility oriented, I doubt it. They did not even update the Linux binaries (and Linux is a supported platform). IWDification is still your best bet.

All high level spell casters will have some sort of spell contingency that they fire up at the start of combat. Spell Shield is among the most common that gets included. Spell Shield will always be the first protection to be stripped, so don't waste you Pierce Shields if they have one of those up. Once that is down you can…

Been a while since I played vanilla BG2 (it's all either SCS or Tactics Remix now), but for Liches you are mostly contesting against total immunity to lvl 5 and lower spells, magic resistance, and high level arcane spell protections. They always put up a Spell Shield first along with some spell deflection/absorbing…

I use the GOG version. The game has a configuration interface that lets you change some stuff (Config.exe and it should be inside the game's install folder). Among them the "AI" updates of the game (which is really just the fps it runs on). Default is 30 and I used to set it at 40 for a smooth game. But now anything…

Thanks, it installs and seems to work properly now.

Here are both log and debug files with the latest attempt. I only have EEex, LeUI and Bubbs spell menu, which is what I usually have as the bare minimum on my test installs.
-
Can't seem to be able to install the Paladin updates with this latest version. Gives me an error. Bellow is copy of my debug file on a fresh install of IWDEE.

I have yet to get to the expansion areas (I always do HoW right before Poquelin fight), but so far the base game is a rather rough on Insane (installed all the smarter/improved default HP enemy modules and smarter spell casters with no extra spells). Encounters usually take me a few tries, but I eventually can beat them.…

HLAs in IWDEE, Enhanced Bard Song does not really work with unkitted Bards. When you take the HLA you can use the song no problem, but once you switch to another song you can't get it back. Is there a way to implement it like in IWDification, were the Enhanced Bard Song gets added to your collection of songs and you can…

Probably, but when I tested it last (on my work laptop) nothing was installed save the mod. Either way, it's not happening now and all issues I was having are gone.
-
Did a quick test on my IWDEE game. - Archers are getting their proper THAC0 and damage kit bonuses - Vanilla Fighters no longer get two instances of Second Wind or the saving throw bonuses - No longer have the issue with the Wizard Slayer and the Detect Illusions skill button
-
Nice. If I do a fresh install on an ongoing game will it be fine?

Been recently using AI tools to fix and/or modify existing mods for my personal use (I'm not a modder so this is purely for entertainment and curiosity). It's doable, but I would say that 3 out of 5 times the code and solutions presented were garbage. You still need to know what you are doing, so it's not as simple as…

It does work on WINE. Perfectly I may say. Only odd thing is that a few releases ago rendering got really laggy. Could be WINE itself to be honest, but I have the game in a static bottle. Have to up the frame updates to 58 for it to be "smooth".

Usually do "trilogy" runs too. Start from BG and finish ToB. ToB (except Watcher's Keep) is usually a slog for me to get through and I finish it just out of duty. I blame Ascension and SCS, as they make ToB into more of a gauntlet. I may try my next run without them, but then the games become piss easy.

BG1 for me. BGTuTu was a thing back then and scratched that itch. When one clearly liked BG1 the best but found it too "rough around the edges" mechanically speaking after playing BG2 a few times. Original BG1 dungeons are indeed bad and small, but still much better than in other contemporary games. BG1 had excellent…

That makes sense, ok thanks. I also noticed that vanilla Fighters with the class updates (again in IWDEE) are getting two instances of Second Wind and double the saving throw bonus. Kitted Fighters are fine. And this error in the UI with the Wizard Slayer update and HLAs... It covers one of my HLAs and it does nothing when…

Just tested it with nothing installed save that module of Skills and Abilities. Same thing. Another thing is that when leveling up a weird graphical animation plays on the character.
-
Oh I see now about the Paladins. Divine Smite is a separate HLA. At that point I wasn't using LeUI (playing IWDEE) so when I tested it my Paladin simply got the ability when he leveled up (he gets 7 instances at lvl 30). With LeUI installed I see that Divine Smite is among the HLA list and can take it several times. Ok,…

Any plans of updating the mod to include revisions to other original kits too? Maybe some love for Jesters or the other Ranger kits. The Druid kits I think could use some revising too (especially the Shapeshifter). And a question. I assume the main target of the revised Paladin is BG2EE, but it works fine on IWDEE from…

Could very well be. Honestly have not used this UI in other games long enough to notice.
-
Never figured it out. Even did a fresh install. Easy enough to mitigate. Another issue I found during character creation. Clicking on the "Back" button while in the process of creating a character throws you into an empty screen with no way to get out. Does not happen regularly, but a bit annoying when it does since it…

Bit late, but to get it working on IWDEE you need to edit the InfinityLoader.ini file and change the name of the game executable to match exactly as it is. Linux FS is case sensitive. The name of the executable inside the InfinityLoader.ini file is set as "icewind.exe" so just change the first letter to upper case so it…

Don't know what could be causing it. Don't have much installed. - EE Fixpack - EEex - Tweaks anthology (just some rule and convenience tweaks) - Tactics Remix - Skills and Abilities Skills and abilities perhaps? But I only have concentration checks and revised weapon styles (not the proficiency overhaul). Gonna try…
-
Easy workaround anyway. Another issue I just stumbled upon. When creating any Thief character (single of multi) and you get to the part where you assign skills, you can skip allocating thieving points. After you assign weapon proficiency points you can advance to the next section without having to allocate any thieving…

That does seem to be the cause. Normally have it at 80% zoom. Setting it to 100% removes that line. 70% also seems fine, so I may default to that now.
