I’ve decided to go to level 13 in thief. The 4x backstab and extra thief skill points are more valuable to me for this run than a few spell slots. The reason I don’t do multi is because I don’t want to keep gaining levels in thief when I’ve already gotten most of the good stuff. I believe the THAC0 issue can also be offset…

Fans are always gonna be drama queens. What matters is how the companies react to it. Wizards failed pretty bad when they let it destroy any future plans they had with Beamdog. Kudos to Beamdog for sticking it out and surviving, even if it’s taking them years to make a new game (remasters don’t count).

@Torgrimmer! Welcome back! Have a :cookie:!

Minion, roll 1d20 for kicks.

Man, a lich-knight riding into battle on a skeletal horse? All he needs is a metal theme song.

958.5: When chicken nuggets attack! OWW!

I’m imagining that the above comments are why cantrips got buffed in 5e dnd (not sure about Pathfinder 2e). I agree with that change. It makes low level wizards more useful without needing to dip points into Dex (even if it’s still useful for unarmored AC). Anyway, after taking a short break from WotR to prevent burnout,…

You know, I have a character in my story who is a divination wizard. She’s a governess gifted with foresight who uses her abilities to rule her lands effectively, maintaining a somewhat fragile peace between the nobility and the common people. That might be a concept to make use of.

I feel like I’ll do it anyway, if anyone is interested. It might take a while to prepare, though.

Minion, roll 1d2 for Possible New Forum Campaign

Now, there used to be a dice rolling function on this forum. How do I use that again, @JuliusBorisov?

As long as it has Jolee Bindo in it, voiced by KMR like the original, I’m okay with it. Seriously, if they keep the companions in the game, and keep it party-based, then they’ll have a sale from me. They can make it whatever kind of RPG they want, as long as it’s party-based. Now excuse me as I clean up the drool that…

I think the companions are the best part of the story’s writing, honestly. I’ve never had such an interest in companion characters’ stories before. This includes the BGs and Kingmaker.

But muh immersion! Lol but yeah, it doesn’t quite work when you want to build an entirely different character, i.e. different personality, dialogue choices, etc. the respec is cool for when you make a leveling mistake.

Restartitis is kicking my butt right now. I think the huge number of options isn’t doing me any favors.

There are some repeating areas, as I found in the beta, but they’re all just random houses that you walk into. None of the major areas are repeated. I personally think the legion combat is pretty fun. It’s very much like HoMM. Turn-based, tactical combat with a general that can cast spells to buff the troops or hurt the…

Had another good(?) idea, and now Stonebones the grumpy oread monk is on his way to becoming a lich.

Is it worth it? Sure, but at this point I’m more invested in Solasta and Pathfinder: WotR. The closer games are to tabletop, the more I like them. BG3 is okay, but I got tired of the Divinity-esque mechanics pretty quickly. If you like Larian, you’ll like this game, but it’ll be collecting dust in my library for a while.

If real life was an RPG, I would be the main character!

Just started a Persuasion build (lol). +15 Persuasion at level 1 seems a little unnecessary, but it never hurts to have friends .

Sitting in the dark, reading forum threads and becoming so engrossed by them that I lose track of time and, oh look, it’s tomorrow, time to go to work. No sleep for me.

Tax Collection Simulator 2021. Calling it now. EDIT: Might call it 2022 at this point.

Writing out the adventures as they happen does seem to make them more interesting. I imagine that’s why bards write songs and stories of their own deeds.
-
@Arvia I don’t think it’s all that strange, myself. I grew up watching my dad play this game and several others, and that was how I got into Baldur’s Gate and games in general. Whether I’m playing a game myself, or watching someone else play, I can become invested in how the adventure goes. Same goes for when I watch…

@JuliusBorisov that totemic druid run was fantastic.
-
I think Blindness might be the best level 1 spell in the game. Going up against a boss? A particularly hard enemy? Noober/Neeber? Blind them all.

“Gather ‘round commoners, and steel yourselves, lest ye be blown away by the raging storm of luscious lunacy that is Nimran, the Lord of the Ferrets, King of the :cookie:s, Regent of the Ridiculous, and generally a good guy to all! Gaze upon his sugary sweet majesty, all ye who dare to dream of a better time, when…

“Wha- who’s there?!” “It’s the cat. Go back to sleep.” “Oh, okay... wait, I don’t own a cat!” “I’m a stray. Shh...” “Oh, okay... wait, cats don’t talk!” Paraphrasing, since I don’t have it committed to memory.

Rain soothes my soul. Hearing it fall, feeling the drops on my skin. That’s the calming thing to me.

Sneak into a sleeping man’s home in Baldur’s Gate city and pretend to be a talking cat.
