In the originals BG, ToSC, BG2 and ToB there was always a pre generated character called Abdel which is probably a nod to Abdel Adrian from the Athans books. BGEE, SOD and BG2EE also have a pre generated fighter called Abdel. However, if you want you can see all these Abdels as being unrelated to Abdel Adrian, as their…

I like playing barbarians :) I like rushing around hitting things
-
It's not for bards - it's for barbarians, or perhaps warriors and clerics with low strength :) It's still unique and cool looking whoever wears it though ;)
-
The Jester's Chain is unique and has a cool visual effect once worn, but is of limited use, unless you're playing a barbarian who doesn't already have the Ashen Scales (which is in some ways better, but heavier). From a pure gameplay perspective getting the two pairs of boots is a better option, but not the most artistic…

Ok, I'll give it a try later - let's see what happens. Weirdly I've never romanced her before so I'm curious to know what conversations crop up.

Yes indeed, oddly if you look on the Fandom website they attribute the current Stein problems to a glitch to the "matrix" caused by "solar disturbances" (?) They also say he's more likely to appear under the current circumstances during Chapt 6, which I'm more inclined to believe than the website's previous statement. More…

Yeah but he only wants to unlock that power so he can steal it and destroy your character in the process, which you don’t know at the time. Never trust a weasel ;) But yes that could be your motivation, if you want. Of course it all comes to the same thing in the end. This isn’t a sandbox, but it is a very well written…

Actually I think that all the villains in the original BG story arc i.e. Irenicus, Amelyssan and Sarevok are done really well. They all do extremely nasty things that justify pursuing them either for revenge or to prevent them from continuing their crimes. I was convinced by all of them. For instance Amelyssan stokes up…

Very interesting…thanks for sharing these and always good to see new images of these characters. There’s clearly a lot of potential with this software.

Not sure what the process is for generating AI art…but I’m very impressed with what you’ve done with Hexxat, Edwin and Korgan. Nalia and Minsc also look very convincing. I like the Neera pics too which are very much in keeping with her character. The “serious looking female” pictures look very similar however e.g. scarred…

Yes, you can tell Imoen you don’t care much about her, even when she rescues you in the game’s first scene, which is frankly a bit ungrateful but there we are. You don’t even have to travel with her in the dungeon if you prefer. Also at various stages of the game in Chapters 1-4 you can either tell various npcs at certain…

Sorry to be a killjoy but there’s no way a character would have Horrid Wilting at this stage of the game, so it’s not a viable option ;)
-
I disagree with you 100% Well, you did ask :)

You can dual class a human FROM illusionist TO fighter I believe though, it’s just less advisable than going from fighter to mage, as the former will be limited in spell effectiveness unless you go to a very high level in illusionist which is unlikely and demanding. Possible and interesting though, but I would consider it…

Thanks that's interesting...I assumed they'd have unlimited Lore. Not a bug then ;)

What I like best (although ALL versions of Shar Teel are good regardless): Dual at 6 Kill Drizzt (obviously) Get 2 or 3 pips in Scimitars when Thief levels are maximised Max Shar Teel out on Stealth and Pick Pockets while Immy (or another Thief) concentrates on OL/FT Wear Drizzt's mail and dual wield his scimitars, because…

One of my first SoA/ToB runs was with a Beast Master, and I loved it. Not the best choice of class true, but very memorable and great alongside Jaheira, Cernd (MVP) and Minsc as a nature loving party. I got really sick of magical clubs by the end of it though...
-
Totally agree with the OP on this thread - that's EXACTLY how I play Shar Teel in BGEE, except the bit about holding off levelling up which I consider to be a bit impractical. Will always have her in the party unless I'm running a strictly non evil party, and always with Imoen as a back up thief. Just for your reference,…

It’s not a bad idea I think. I never solo personally, but at the moment I find I’m using the thief skills alongside an F/M a lot in the early chapters of BGEE alongside Montaron and/or Imoen, but after Chapter Two at Nashkel this wasn’t so important once my party NPCs each had a level or two. Again in Irenicus’ dungeon in…

Good, thanks for clarifying. Of course the familiar needs to be outside the backpack because it can’t retain items there, but it’s nice to know you can carry even more items across under these circumstances, if you had the means.
-
That’s not exactly my question: I know that familiars can carry up to twenty items by pickpocketing. My question is, will they retain these items on an import between BGEE and SOD, as other party members do?
-
In the quickslots, what kinds of items can they keep there? Is it anything (e.g. wands, scrolls etc.) or are they restricted by e.g. class?
-
Yes, but I want to maximise the amount of items I can carry across, hence the question.
-
I agree that the city itself is the least interesting part of the entire game, which is ironic considering the game’s title…it takes me ages to finish everything in the city and often I lose interest in a run altogether. Luckily it picks up again in Chapter 6.
-
And of course, there's the fabled scroll of Protection from Undead, which when combined with a reasonable magic weapon can turn any combat against undead to victory...provided you position your party correctly ;) I always smile when I find one of these as a random treasure drop :)
-
Yes, what something else did you have in mind? Personally I like Turn/Control Undead as an option :)
-
I like Daystar the best - kill Lich early with cheese then reap the rewards...yeah!
-
Also of course there are the ones from IWD, IWD2 and NWN…
-
Interesting so it’s related to difficulty level AND xp level. Many thanks :)
-
That’s a pity. Although BGEE and SOD are both great, I find SOA and TOB to be more rewarding experiences in terms of gameplay and written script…maybe you’ll come back to them after a break?
