    I have video of the entire award ceremony....

    ...but no place to host this shit. Knowing all the peepz here it would use a lot of bandwidth. I was sitting in the very front row and have great footage. I also have great footage of the "badgez" piece when the lights went out. The video is in 3 parts, but I am going to break it down much more. In its native mpeg2 format its about 900mb-1gb of video file.

    So....who wants video of the entire ceremony, including the fed-wedding? Hook me up with some space :)

      I need to talk to DT, but maybe we can setup a WebDAV space for large files, which are then reviewed, perhaps re-encoded and then moved into the pics space, manually at first, then later automated.

      Right now, the limits on file uploads to pics are too small to allow for this. We need a way to get large video files to the pics server.

              I concur -- BitTorrent or YouTube. Or else the server's going to get creamed and none of us will get to see it until next spring.

                  I can pop it up on Tomshardware.com, but as other people said YouTube or BitTorrent are probably the best spots.

                      i would go with the torrent, as youtube has a file upload limit of 100MB, and i'm sure that 2 hours is longer then that...

                              I'd expect the final product to be about 250MB, give or take depending on codec, wrapper, and of course... quality. I like open stuff like XViD / OGG in an OGM wrapper (and maybe someone will add subtitles since OGM is cool like that). If you want to forge ahead to x264 you might be able to get it a little smaller. Mastroka didn't seem to have very good player support last I looked into it, but maybe improvements have been made on that front since I last checked. I remeber hearing about how mkv is a superior format, but I still have yet to see anything solid to back up this claim.

                              If you want help encoding I can take care of it, just send me a message and we'll work out the details.
