Der Körper kann Natriumselenit im Vergleich zu organischen Verbindungen zwar schlechter aufnehmen, dafür steht es vollständig zur Verfügung. Organische Verbindungen müssen erst abgebaut werden oder landen nicht nutzbar in Eiweißen wie Muskeleiweiß.
Ein weiterer Vorteil: Die Aufnahme von Natriumselenit wird reguliert, sodass es bei sachgerechter Dosierung nicht zu unnötigen Einlagerungen im Gewebe kommt. Bei organischem Selen hingegen – insbesondere bei höheren Dosierungen – kann sich überschüssiges Selen dauerhaft in Körpereiweißen anreichern und zu überhöhten Blutwerten führen.
Selenioform® 100+ eignet sich für Personen mit selenarmer Ernährung – z. B. bei überwiegend pflanzlicher Kost oder bei Lebensmitteln aus selenarmen Böden. Auch bei erhöhtem Bedarf, etwa durch oxidativen Stress oder zur Unterstützung von Immunsystem, Schilddrüse und Zellschutz, kann eine gezielte Ergänzung sinnvoll sein.
