About

Together we're transforming the electric grid

Form Energy was founded by energy storage veterans who came together in 2017 with a unified mission to reshape the global electric system by creating a new class of low-cost, multi-day energy storage systems. Guided every day by Form’s core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, our team is dedicated to driving energy innovation forward to strengthen the electric grid and communities across the country.

Our Leadership

Form Energy is led by a seasoned team with proven expertise in developing, scaling, and deploying new energy technologies. Combining technical excellence, strategic insight, and operational agility, our leadership operates from a foundation of human connection, mutual respect, and pragmatic optimism to drive forward our ambitious mission: energy storage for a better America and a better world.

Our Presence Across the U.S.

Today, Form Energy employs nearly 1,000 people at facilities in West Virginia, Massachusetts, and California, and has multi-day energy storage projects underway with leading utilities across the United States.

Our Progress

Since our founding in 2017, Form Energy has rapidly advanced iron-air batteries from concept to commercialization for the electric grid by de-risking the technology through rigorous testing, scaling our manufacturing operations, and signing agreements with leading utilities to deploy multi-day energy storage systems across the country. From early prototypes in the lab to the world’s first grid-connected systems, this timeline highlights the milestones that have powered our progress so far and build the foundation for what comes next.
