FontStack1.06
Publisher Description
FontStack is a 'fontastic' new AUv3 plugin for iOS which can be loaded into your favourite DAW allowing you to utilise all those wonderful and nostalgic SF2 SoundFonts you've collected over the years. The SoundFont standard was created back in the early 90s, and made famous by the SoundBlaster series of sound cards. With the introduction of the Amiga, it spawned a host of musical creation tools called Trackers, which allowed the Amiga to load these SoundFonts and create sophisticated musical scores of 4 or 8 tracks. These days we don't use this standard so much, but there is a wealth of free SF2 files available on the internet just waiting to be loaded into FontStack. A SoundFont comprises a file with an .sf2 file extension. This file contains a set of samples, instruments, and presets. FontStack enables you to load one or more SoundFonts into its 4 layers, and use them in lots of creative ways.
You can stack layers to create a rich combination of multiple tones, or assign each layer its own key range on the keyboard to create virtual splits, or a mixture of the two. Each layer can also be assigned its own MIDI channel for true OMNI mode.
One great feature of FontStack is its ability to cache all your SoundFonts and the instruments they contain. This allows quick searching for specific instrument types without the need to physically search through SoundFonts to find them.
Another great feature is the ability to optionally link to a remote folder containing a global set of SoundFonts, so that they can be shared between apps. Both internal and external SoundFonts and their instruments will be cached and searching is just as easy as it is using internal SoundFonts.
FontStack features:
○ 4 SoundFont Layers which can be stacked, layered or played on different channels.
○ 6 Scenes per Layer containing different SoundFont instruments and settings.
○ Keyboard Splits can be created spreading multiple SoundFonts over a single keyboard.
○ SoundFont Stacks can be created, stacking multiple SoundFonts to produce a bigger, thicker sound.
○ Disk Streaming allows you to stream a SoundFont directly from disk saving physical memory.
○ File Manager allowing local and remote file management.
○ Symbolic Link allows you to specify a remote/external folder from which to access your SoundFonts.
○ Instrument Search allows you to search the content of local and remote SoundFonts folders.
○ Drag and Drop your sound fonts directly into the SoundFont Manager.
○ Reverb, Delay & Chorus effects can be applied to each instrument layer.
○ Haas and Stereo Width can be used to simulate virtual STEREO on SoundFonts with MONO samples.
○ Allows direct control of the SoundFonts Amp Envelope and Filter settings.Update due to updated age rating!

You can apply tags to both local and remote folders. To set a tag SWIPE left on a folder and select TAGS. You can then add and remove tags from the selected folder.
You can use TAGS in the Randomize Options. This allows us to search multiple tagged folders during a randomization.
To apply TAGS to the instrument search, SWIPE down on the search button.
Updated the Vector Pad with a new 'Sequence' mode.
Added a Custom Tags button to the Manage SoundFonts window. You can Long Press this button to remove ALL tags from ALL folders.

Version 1.01
v1.01 B59 - Release Candidate
Added multiple outputs for each layer + effects return.
NOTE: The Haas and Pan/Tremolo are applied to the individual outputs, while the effect returns are summed and pass through a seperate output called Effect Returns. This allows the user to add effects to the dry signal chain and recombine with the send returns later.
You can now long press on a LAYER button and a Duplicate Layer will appear asking which layer should receive the duplicate.
Fixed a possible crash if no SoundFonts are installed and you try a search.
Added a Load SF2 button to the SoundFont Manager window.
Added a new settings option 'Search Includes SoundFonts', which forces the default instrument search to include SoundFont names that match the search string.
Fixed a spelling issue in the 'Type the name of an SoundFont to find?' message. Changed the word 'an' to 'a'.
Added a simple randomization option to the AU parameters.
Added a new Control Keys feature that allows you to trigger program functionality by pressing notes on your keyboard.
Fixed a potential crash if the remote path has no SoundFonts and you press the Randomize button.
When you change the remote link path, it forces a cache rebuild.
You can now SWIPE left on a folder entry in the SoundFont Manager and select Rename.
Added a Reorder Mode to the Control Keys settings.
When 'Use SoundFont FX Settings' is turned OFF in Settings, the Pan knob setting remains uneffected when switching instruments.
When randomizing, if 'Use SoundFont FX Settings' is OFF, I no longer randomize effect settings and settings FX are retained.
Fixed an issue where changing the remote link in the SoundFont Manager wasn't always update the cache and randomization was failing.
The SoundFont Manager and Preset Manager windows now display the current path.
The SoundFont selection dialogs also now display the current path.
Fixed an issue where the SoundFont Manager shows 'You currently have no saved presets!' when it should have been mentioning SoundFonts.
When you swipe down on the SoundFonts button it displays the full path to the selected SoundFont (i.e. Remote://SoundFonts/Accoustic Piano).
You can now SWIPE down on a layer to enable 'Restricted Randomization'. This restricts subsequant randomizations to the currently selected SoundFont folder. This is useful if you point to a 'Bass' folder, as it ensures future randomizations will be only randomize basses. A small 'R' is displayed at the top right of the layer button when 'Restricted Randomization' mode is on. This is work in progress and will change.
When pressing L1-L4 Input controls it now selected the appropriate Layer.
The SoundFont Manager attempts to determine if a SoundFont is GM compatible or not (appends (GM) to SoundFont name).
Reversed the AU parameter VectorPad X so that a bigger X value moved right, 0 on the left (more logical approach).
Added Layer levels 1-4 to the AU Parameters list.
Added a Tempo option for Standalone mode (long press Panic) or select from Open Windows menu.
Added more precision to the Amp Envelope settings and made most of them logrithmic.
The randomize SoundFonts never picks the same soundfont IF another valid SoundFont is available.
The Randomizing prompt should now popup before randomization starts.
Fixed an issue where pan wasn't been set on newly loaded SoundFont if 'Use SounfFont FX Settings' is turned OFF.
In the SoundFont Manager, dragging a file over a folder now highlights the folder to confirm where the file will be dropped.
Updated the user manual and added new YouTube video link for the v1.01 Update.
