Acquiring Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology is vital to ensure that individuals with disabilities can live, work, and play in the communities they choose.
FODAC is a partner within the Tools for Life Network! Tools for Life (TFL) is Georgia’s Assistive Technology Act Program. They work collaboratively with FODAC to provide: Assistive Technology (AT) demonstrations, access to the AT lending libraries, and provide AT training. Learn more at gatfl.gatech.edu
Funding and Reuse Resources
FODAC operates the Georgia Alternative Financing Program – CreditAble – designed to assist people with disabilities with resources and low interest loans to obtain needed Assistive Technology.
Alternative Financing
Alternative financing provides financial access to people who have not previously qualified for traditional financing. Locating funding often creates a barrier to acquiring needed assistive technology devices and services. CreditAble, the Georgia program for financial loans, was designed to aid with the acquisition of AT and home or vehicle modifications through financial loans at affordable interest rates. During 2023, the administration of CreditAble was transferred to FODAC for increased stability and a re-launch of the program.
Funding Guide
Georgia’s Assistive Technology and Funding Guide, A Financial Educational Services Resource from the CreditAble Program in Partnership with TFL, is a resource for finding answers and resources within Georgia to support the disability community by increasing and maintaining independence with AT. This funding and acquisition guide includes resources to help access AT in all areas of life.
