About

We build local drone skills and innovation to address Malawi’s real-world challenges.

Since 2018, Malawi Flying Labs has deployed drones for mapping, flood risk analysis, search and rescue, and damage assessments, including during Cyclone Freddy. We are now building a collaborative platform that connects drone stakeholders across Malawi to share data, drive innovation, and deliver solutions to humanitarian, climate, and development challenges.

Local Capacity Building

We train local drone operators and partners in drone flying, mapping, and data analysis to strengthen skills, build technical capacity, and enable sustainable drone use across sectors in Malawi.

Assessments & Advisory

In collaboration with the Department of Disaster Management Affairs, we to conduct drone flights in risk-prone areas to collect baseline data for hazard analysis, planning, and disaster risk assessments.
