Hispano Buchon ‘White 9’: Based on the Messerschmitt 109 this Spanish ‘Buchon’ was built in 1958. The ME109 was the Luftwaffe rival to the Spitfire so makes the perfect ‘dog fight’ pairing if you’re considering a two aircraft display. It’s equipped with smoke for simulated battle damage.

How much does a Spitfire Display cost?
All our displays are bespoke and cost will vary depending on the location and aircraft selected, let us know the details and we’ll provide a quote.
The airborne display of aircraft in the United Kingdom is subject to the requirements of ‘CAP 403’ published by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). We require permission from the CAA to conduct a flying display, a fee for display application will be included in any display quote.
Displays are only permitted to take place over suitable areas which are free from habitation, industry or leisure activity. The area for the requested display should be over open countryside or sparsely populated areas. The CAA differentiate between advertised events which are open to the public and private events. The classification affects the governing regulation and may have a small impact on the CAA charges.
To obtain the necessary permissions, the CAA normally require at least 42 days’ notice. This period is dictated by the requirements of the CAA to discharge their obligations to third parties and to prepare the necessary documentation. It may be possible to obtain a permission in less than 42 days if it’s a private event so please get in touch and we’ll be happy to review your Spitfire Display request.
Our quotes are in two parts:
– A non refundable ‘application fee’ (usually less than £600) which covers the CAA application fees and administration costs.
– The ‘display fee’, the cost for positioning the aircraft to your chosen location and performing the display.
The application fee is payable when booking your display, the balance is payable a minimum of 7 days before the event. The display fee is refundable in the event the display does not take place due to weather or operational reasons. We can provide Spitfire, Hurricane, P-51 Mustang and Buchon aircraft for displays. The cost of the Hurricane, P-51 mustang and Buchon displays are around 10% less than that of the equivalent Spitfire display.
All displays and manouvres are subject to weather, site suitability and CAA approval.
