This Summer, Turn Flight Sim Time into Real Pilot Skills

If you’re like many parents, you see your teen’s passion for aviation and flight simulators, but you wonder: “Are they actually getting better at this?” Without structure, it’s easy for that passion to remain just a game.

This is where our Online Aviation Summer Camp comes in.

This isn’t a rigid, pre-recorded course. It’s a flexible, one-on-one mentorship program where your teen works directly with a real Certified Flight Instructor using a home flight simulator. We provide the missing ingredient that transforms sim time from entertainment into a powerful educational experience.

  • Transform screen time into a summer of achievement and skill development.
  • Build confidence, decision-making, and communication skills that extend far beyond the cockpit.
  • Give your teen a significant advantage for college applications and any future flight training.
  • Provide a structured, engaging, and incredibly fun way to explore their passion.

Imagine their pride after successfully planning and flying their first “solo” mission on a live air traffic control network. This aviation program makes that a reality.

More Than a Camp—It’s a Personalized Launchpad

Our program is designed to be a hands-on adventure that builds a true understanding of aviation. We focus on what matters, turning a hobby into a foundational skillset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there specific dates or deadlines?

No. While this program is a perfect activity for a summer break, it is available year-round. Our flexible, one-on-one scheduling allows you to start whenever you’re ready. We do recommend applying early for the summer, as instructor slots can fill up quickly.

What is the minimum age? Is parental consent required?

While we can tailor the content to all age groups, we recommend a minimum age of 13 for this program. For any student under the age of 18, we require a signed parental consent form before lessons can begin. This process involves a quick form and may include a brief verification call to ensure a safe learning environment. It is the parent’s or guardian’s responsibility to provide supervision during sessions.

What kind of flight simulator do we need for this camp?

A PC or laptop that meets the requirements for X-Plane 12 or Microsoft Flight Simulator, a basic set of USB flight controls (like a yoke or stick), and a stable internet connection. We can help you choose the right gear and get it all set up!

Is this program just for teens?

Absolutely not. While it’s designed to be a great summer camp experience for teens, the flexible, one-on-one format is perfect for adults looking to structure their learning and get expert guidance.

Is any prior flight sim experience needed?

None at all. Our program is designed for complete beginners and seasoned sim enthusiasts alike. Your instructor will tailor the lessons to the student’s starting skill level.

Can this program cover advanced topics like airliner operations?

Absolutely. While our core packages are designed to build a strong foundation, the one-on-one format is fully customizable. For students with prior experience or those who quickly master the fundamentals, we can tailor the curriculum to focus on advanced topics and airline-specific procedures.

This can include:

  • Learning to fly specific jet airliners like the A320 or Boeing 737.
  • Understanding jet handling characteristics and energy management.
  • Flying Standard Instrument Departures & Arrivals (SIDs/STARs).
  • Programming and using a Flight Management Computer (FMC).

We have active airline pilots on our team who fly these aircraft professionally. If this is your goal, please mention it in your application so we can match you with the perfect instructor to guide you on your airline pilot path.

How It Works

For your flight instructor to provide effective remote coaching, two key things need to be shared:

  • Voice communications
  • Your primary simulator screen

Generally, Zoom (free) is used to facilitate sharing both of these with your instructor.

You simply join a Zoom meeting via a link, then press the "Share Screen" button.

Zoom also allows you to optionally record your sessions, which is an excellent way to review and retain the info you learn.

If you use virtual reality (VR) or have a complex sim setup, we have various other methods to ensure your instructor can see everything they need to.

We also provide plugins that allow your instructor to remotely adjust sim parameters like failures and weather.
