There’s still been…

no rain here and much of the plot now has a frazzled, end of the season look.

Most of the potato foliage, apart from the main crop Desiree, has completely died back and once I’ve lifted the remaining first earlies Foremost I’ll be lifting the second earlies Charlotte.

The onion Sturon leaves are turning yellow and beginning to topple which indicates that they’re ready to be lifted and stored.

Judging by the flowers on the three runner bean Moonlight  plants I may be picking quite a lot before too long.

The Outdoor Girl red tomatoes are starting to ripen.

It’s nice to see the rose Pretty Lady flowering again.

As with most weeks over the past month or two I’ve only been to the plot a couple of times this week.  I was there Monday morning for a couple of hours and after lunch yesterday for a shorter period.

Have a good weekend, and take care!

  1. That looks like a good crop of ripening tomatoes, along with your potatoes ready to be dug and the onions and beans. Pretty Lady, reliable as always. I hope the weather improves to make gardening pleasurable.

    1. Liz yes I’m pleased with all of them. She sure is. It’s warm today and heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow. Thanks, me too as it would be welcome. xx

  2. We’ve had a bit of rain but it evaporates without making the ground look damp, so I’d better keep on watering. Tomatoes, onions, runner beans and potatoes though – not a bad life is it! Take care

  3. ‘Pretty Lady’ has certainly been a reliably healthy and happy rose. Glad she’s doing well for you.

That frazzled look isn’t my favorite, but hopefully you’ll get some rain soon and things will perk up a bit. Enjoy your harvesting!
