Summer plotting

The dwarf runner beans Jackpot are doing well and now showing plenty of flowers. I’ve put a short cane in next to each of these to give them a  bit of support, otherwise all I’ve done so far is water them when needed.

I’m looking forward to seeing, and of course then eating, the pods.

The onions Sturon are really doing well with the biggest now the size of a tennis ball.  I won’t be starting to lift any of these until the leaves turn yellow and topple.

I generally grow the candytuft Fairy Mix seperately to the other annuals so that they don’t get overshadowed by them but as you can see this year the pot marigolds Flighty’s Favourites are mixed in with them.

It looks like being a dry, and warmer, week ahead so I’ll be doing some summer plotting.

Have a good week, and take care!

  1. Onions looking good and beans coming along a treat. Those mixed flowers look lovely. I have pot marigolds mixed in with californian poppies, an ocean of orange, love it. Hopefully will be out in the garden lots this week, have a good one.

  2. Oh my! The candytuft mixed in with Flighty’s Favourites are a pretty sight. Glad you’re having success with the green beans and onions and a good plotting weather week ahead.

  3. These unplanned flowerings are quite a lovely sight. A very lively and bright mix.
The Sturon remind me of the rather large type of spring onions we find in the shops, at their current stage. It is a very good result.
The runner bean flowers are so pretty. Altogether, your plot
appears to be blooming Mr F. Xxxx

    1. Menhir I agree they are. Very much so.

I’m all the more pleased with the onions given that they were so poor last year.

They sure are. Thanks, it’s doing better than expected. xx

    1. Cathy unfortunately it’s far too late for spring sown onions and too early for autumn ones.

Have a google to see what vegetable seeds can be sown now and maybe you’ll find something. xx

  4. It’s good to see your successes, the weather this year is making gardening a challenge to say the least. The candytuft and marigolds look pretty together.
