Shortly after posting my entry It wasn’t the children ! yesterday I received an email from the school’s head teacher.
He says something rather different to what his colleague told me on Tuesday, and what two plot holders saw happen on the day!
I’m not going to detail what he said but call me cynical as I’m guessing that he doesn’t want to involve Barclays and possibly jeopardise any support that it gives the school.
Anyway he’s made a generous gesture and offered me £50 worth of garden centre tokens.
I’ve accepted, and said that on receipt of them I’ll consider the matter closed.

Nikki it won’t get used much over the next few months so it should grow back okay by the spring. If need be I’ll sow some grass seed then on any bare patches.

Hi Flighty, no I don’t want to call you cynical, although thinking about it I would have felt the same. Why is it nowadays you can never get a straight answer out of anyone, it bugs me. Not good weather today for allotmenteering, but a perfect day for mooching around a garden centre, have you bought those quality secateurs yet, and did you get any change? x

Louise I was surprised to settle the matter in less than a week considering the hassle I normally have with anything like this.
I was at the bookshop some of yesterday so didn’t get to the plot.
I’ve not got the vouchers yet! I’ll wait until the New Year to spend them. I’m buying good but not top-of-the-range very expensive secateurs! I need a new rake as well. xx
