YUCK!!!!!!!!!
I think I may have totaled my car on the way to work this morning. I was going to a different school, so this means different route. The sun was in my eyes as I was trying to clear my fogged up windshield and I couldn't see the light was red or the truck I rear-ended. The major damage was done to my poor old car. The impact bashed in the from of my car and buckled the hood. I was in shock.....It was at an intersection around the corn from our house and I was slowing down, but the sun's glare prevented me from seeing there was a truck in front of me. I felt so stupid. The guy I hit was really nice about it. Turns out he works at the nearby hospital with friend of ours. I am so glad my husband was home, he came fast to help me call the insurance company and etc. We have plans to get a rental car today and see how bad the damage is with my car. I wanted to cry as my car was being towed away leaking all kinds of fluids. I'm okay, but my neck in the back hurt some, may just be from stress.

I know it's been a while. Sometimes you just get in a mood where you don't feel like writing...

I'm home catching up today around the house. I start back to work Monday the 27th. New kindergartners to get to know! Will be fun!

The heat wave is so bad here, I'm more than ready for a nice brisk fall!
I miss Jess a lot, hope she calls today!

The dryer calls me... leave some love and hugs!

I know, it's been forever since I have posted. I've been too pooped from the stress of working with kids all day to even think about sitting down to post. I'm home for the second day in a row with sinus crud...

The wind has been kicking up the pollen here and my head has been throbbing from it. I've just decided that I will begin using/wearing the white allergy masks when I take the kids out for recess. I'll look goofy, but I don't care at this point! The burning pain above my eyes and my achy teeth, make the masks look really attractive to me! I may even start a new fashion trend with the other teachers!

So if you see a strange lady on the playground tomorrow, it will be me!

I'm getting my hair cut this afternoon. Hard to belive after years of my hair being so long, that when it's a bit below my shoulders, it feels too long and bothersome! Best part, it will dry faster! Yea-ness! Life's simple pleasures!

Hugs,
Leave some love!

Currently Watching: Scrubs - The Complete Fourth Season

Now for something entirely Random:

How do you know you have spent 6 days with 2 college students (Chris and Jess)?

You find a package of peanut butter Oreos on their kitchen counter and decide to try one. You notice that the Oreos are "stale" and tell one of the college students living there that the Oreos are stale. Her Reply is, "it's okay, Mom. They still taste good!"
She then continues to place them on her pantry shelf "unclosed." (Grin)

That was too good not to share... Boy, I really miss the two of them!!!!

I had a fun Christmas with Chris and Jess. As always, a good visit is over too soon. I left a bit of "home" in their fridge: my rocky road fudge (which I showed Jess how to make...HINT HINT), My homemade pumpkin bread/muffins, and Pumpkin Chocolate chip cookies.

Whenever I make my pumpkin bread when Jess was "home", she would come in from school and say, "the house smells like Christmas!" When Chris brought Jess home from her job (while I was there), the first thing Jess said coming in her front door was, "it smells like HOME!" I had just made a batch of my pumpkin bread for them...the look on her face was worth it!

Karen and Terry came in Christmas day and Jess cooked a spiral ham with carrots and potatoes for all of us. She did a great job! We later played a few rounds of Movie Scene It. Chris demonstrated his famous "victory dance down the hall and back" when his team won a game. Before it got too late, we all went over to Harding to enjoy their beautiful Christmas lights that decorated the campus.

I was hoping for a white Christmas that was half way predicted. I've never seen a white Christmas, so I was a little excited at the prospect. It ended up raining Christmas Eve. It was still a good week!

Karen and I took advantage of one of the good sales at Bath and Bodyworks, where Jess and Mandy work. When I got home, Robert asked why my bag was heavier than when I left. I admitted to mopping on the shower gel sale at Jess' job! LOVE that Mango Mandarin Shower Gel!

Work starts back at school tomorrow!

Leave some love.....

The lonnnnnng late flight to Little Rock was well worth it! Especially getting to witness Chris' victory dance several times after creaming me and Jess in the board/dvd game of Scene It last night. Made for a fun Christmas Eve!

The ham and veggies are done and all the baking is as well. We're waiting for Chris to get back from the airport with Karen and Terry. This is a fun Christmas! A bit bittersweet not having all of my family together for Christmas for the first time in 23 years. But Jess and Chris' apartment is warm and cozy. Robert and Jess' Godparents both called this morning too!!

We're going to go look at Searcy and Harding's Christmas lights tonight! I want to take pictures of them also.
More later.

I know, it's been forever since I have updated here. Work these days leaves me so drained at the end of each day. I'm home today with a migrane that's slowly going away... so seemed like a good time to try and update my LJ.

Where do I begin?
I had a fun birthday with Jess and Chris over Parent Weekend at Harding. (No broken toes this time!) Got to spend it with two of my favorite people, Jess and Chris! Have to say, they spoiled me! They both even cooked breakfast for me one morning! It was so cute seeing them both in the kitchen together (Chris cooked the scrambled eggs all by himself!) Then the icing on the cake: they had a surprise party for me with several couples there that I had met through them over the past four years. It was a good weekend with good friends or should I say with all my kids!

I love seeing Jess and Chris so happy! I pray God will continue to always bless their marriage!

Then We got the news that Jess and Chris will not be able to come "home" for Christmas.
Jess let me know she wants me to be with them for Christmas and her Dad was able to find good deal on my plane ticket. I'm excited about getting to spend Christmas with Jess and Chris, but it will be bittersweet too. It will be the first Christmas that our entire family will not be together for the holidays. So, I'll celebrate a few days early with Robert and we still have our wedding anniversary to look forward to December 31!

Another first: I wrapped and packaged up all of Jess and Chris' Christmas presents and we mailed them to Searcy. Instructions were clearly stated on the boxes that they "not be opened until Christmas!" (actually meaning: until I get there)

I can't wait to bake Christmas goodies in Jess' kitchen with her! Their apartment will smell so good!
Now, let's see if I can remember to post pictures. These are from October.

Leave some love....

Well, my house is beginning to get back to the way it used to look before 4 months ago. Which means, livingroom isn't full of wedding reception supplies and wedding decorations anymore. It's just beginning to sink in for me that Jess and Chris are married. When they left after the wedding, it felt like they were just going back to Harding as usual. Then the next few days, it began to hit me. It was similar of the first time we drove home after dropping Jess off at Harding for the fiirst time.. But I'm okay now. It's just a new beginning for all of us.

I'm still sorting through wedding pictures to decide which ones will make good enlarged portraits. Too many good ones means it's going to be a hard choice!

Here are more pics from the wedding!

Leave some love!

Jess and Chris' wedding was everything we hoped it would be plus more!!! No rain, sunny skys, with a breeze every so often! God is so good! So many of our friends prayed for a beautiful day! Speaking of friends, there were so many old friends there, that it made it all so extra special and it added to the joy of Jess and Chris' beautiful wedding day!

Jess was beautiful and I finally became unstressed after the ceremony was over. I even got to dance with Carson!
But... I have to say, my best dance partner was my husband!!!

Here is peek a the festivities:

In less than 3 weeks away, we will have a new son in our family! Chris Fulks is a Godly young man who loves his Lord and our Jess. We feel he will be wonderful husband to her in the years to come. He is such a blessing and encouragement to her. They seem to compliment each other so well. God knew what He was doing in bringing them together! My prayer is that they will continue to grow more in the fullness of Christ together.

Time has gone by so very fast and still so much to do. I'm at the point that camp next week will be a break from wedding plans. When we get back, there will be rushig around and completing last minute purchases and plans. It's all finally beginning to fall into place and at one point I wouldn't have believed it possible.

Ash and Jess are coming in sometime this afternoon/evening. We're taking them to see the Rob Bell concert tonight. I've never heard him before, but the girls like him. I am really looking forward to sharing Bible camp with Ash next week. It's such an uplifting time. It will be "hot" there but fun also.

Errands to get done today...

Leave some love!
Hugs!

Crunch Time!!!
I will never get tired of watching her sleep! She looks much younger than twenty-one in this picture. This was a shot of her catching a few winks between her two bridal showers on a very hot Saturday. Snugging next to her Daddy with Chris on the other end of the couch reading, about to fall asleep himself!

With a few weeks left to go, Jess' Aunt Jan and I were finalizing reception plans to over salads tonight. Food will be yummy and chocolate will be flowing, if all goes well and the creek doesn't rise! I'm a bit calmer with loose ends coming together. Just quite a bit that can only be done the two days before the wedding!

If you're at the wedding and don't know me, I'll be the one misting up quite a bit! My baby's getting married!

The second installment of my root canal lasted four hours today! The feeling kept coming back at the times when you really wouldn't want it to. I ended up having nine shots to numb everything. Then my doctor discovered that my tooth had four canals instead of the three she worked on. You have to love it when the feeling comes back while your doctor is filling in your canals! It's amazing how high your body can rise out of the dental chair! Yikes!
The folks there did take good care of me and felt badly when I hurt.

Jess' bridal showers were so much fun! The second one was the best. There were may close friends there and lots of stories about Jess were shared. Close to the end of the shower, Jess was handed 5 small flat boxes...
These were the hit of the shower! The first contained the hot pink t-shirt and boxer pj set in the background picture you can see. of course we all said,"AWW, cute!"

#2 box: a black lacy set that caused Jess to turn a beautiful shade of RED when she realized how it looked! Her response, "You can see right thru it!" Needless to say the bottoms were cheek revealing too!

#3 box: a lovely blue number that was open from under the bodice and had a wide thong connected to it.

#4 box: a beautiful light blue flowered set with a thinnnnnner thong with it. Melanie (her babysitter from when she was younger) said, "Jess, we call that butt floss!"

#5 box: contained a more modest but fun, orange/yellow Mickey Mouse t-shirt and long pj pants.

It was a FUN time! Along the word search contest during the shower when Jess couldn't find CHRIS' name! She yelled out,"I can't find Chris, has anyone else found him?"

Father's day is always a bit sad for me. My husband and I lost both of our Dads less than a month apart in 1998. I miss not calling my daddy and being able to tell him how much I love him. Just hearing his loving voice... But I have wonderful memories of both of our dads. I just miss them! One way I do celebrate is to send a card each Father's Day to Jess' godfather in Ga. I send it my dad's memory.

Bad Caffeine.....
Friday is here! Still behind in laundry but things are getting done! Yeah!

Learned a good lesson last night! Never drink leaded coffee after 2:00pm! I have zero tolerance for coffee after mid afternoon. I wasn't able to fall asleep until 5:30 yesterday morning. I haven't pulled an all nighter in a long time. Wonder if I had begun drinking coffee before I was 25, if I would have a problem with caffeine?

Busy day tomorrow and an oil change for my Altima at 8:00am

Leave some love!

More things are falling into place for the big day and the week before. I made the appointments last week for mine, Jess', and the girls in her wedding party for pedicures! The "girly stuff" that helps break the tension and relaxes everyone! Jess and Ash are scheduled for Thursday before the wedding and Andrea, Mandy, and Amy for that Friday. I'm hoping everyone getting in that Friday will be here before 2:00pm. (pedicure appt.)

God is sooo good! So many folks in our church family want be involved in helping with the reception. The excitement of other makes it even more fun! We have a new family that just recently placed membership here and the mom (as soon as she met Jess) offered her help right away with any thing that needed to be done! That really touched Jess' heart! The love of our brothers and sisters in Christ is so wonderful and inspiring!

The school year here is almost over. This whole year is going by so fast! It can slow down anytime it wants too!
Wedding plans are going well. I can't wait to see Jess and Chris' invitations! Fun part of wedding plans! I'm still trying to put my outfit together that I will be comfortable and cool in the up-coming the August heat.
I'm excited about Chris and Jess' two showers next month too! More fun stuff! I love it!!!

After being out of the all house all day today, I came home to find Jess and Chris in our house! I was surprised beyond belief!! I was tired and thought I was dreaming for a minute! They both came in 20 minutes before we got home and hid in my bedroom! They parked Chris' car in our neighbor's driveway! I hugged the stuffings out of both Jess and Chris!

They were not supposed to come to Durham until the 25 of March for Chris to ask Robert's blessing. The joke was on me!!! They had this planned with Robert back in January! Here I thought I was planning a surprise for Robert! Man!!!!! You could have knocked me over with a feather!

After a long talk between the four of us, all is GOOD! But they have decided on August 5 instead of December 30. Much planning to to do. Pray for all this to work out!! They are wanting to keep all of this small!!!

God has brought Jess an amazing and Godly young man! He hasn't officially proposed yet, but they consider themselves engaged. Pray for their future too please.
