Places to find me on the web
My preferred home these days is my Dreamwidth journal ([personal profile] fish_echo), but I'm crossposting between there and here and I read both flists. (My IJ of the same name is likely to continue to remain neglected.) [I am at AOOO as Fish_Echo]. I cross-post to AOOO all my fic that doesn't already have a specific home. ([My masterlist] will always have links to all my fannish works.)

Things that I do
  • fish_recs: is my recs comm. I post my recs solely there (and then make a post here saying 'go look at them'). I'll be migrating them to DW once they have the ability to migrate comms, but in the meantime there is [fish-recs-feed (at DW)]. I will keep some way for LJ'ers to follow the recs after I migrate.
  • I mod the comm bettinas_fandom which is for the fandom of [A thousand ways to please a husband with Bettina's best recipes].
  • I am a volunteer at the utterly awesome [audiofic archive], which means that I love it lots and things that I love tend to be things I love to talk about-- so if you have any questions about the archive, please do!
  • I'm the designated audiofic archivist for Mythbusters podfic and a designated co-archivist for Merlin (BBC) podfic.
  • li>I'm an assistant mod at merlinpodfic. Well, according to the comm's profile page, I'm the sidekick-- and yeah, I've started brainstorming an appropriate superhero-style cape. :P

Etc.
This started out as a fannish-only journal and whilst fandom-related things remain a major topic of it, sometimes I'll end up discussing knitting or cooking or social meta or whatever else that isn't media fandom. (Which is not to say that I'm not a fan of knitting... :P )

The fandoms I'm most interested in at the moment are: Leverage, SGA, Bettina's fandom, Doctor Who and Torchwood, Merlin (the BBC programme), Supernatural, Riese, Psych, and Star Trek Reboot. Fandoms I'm currently more dabbling in: Harry Potter, SG1, Firefly, Buffy/Angel, Smallville, Mythbusters and White Collar. There are others I wander through on occasional but it makes me sad when I can't remember them all, so I'm not writing them down here. [Date of last update of this: erm, I forget? Maybe March 2010-ish?]

You are welcome to pass through here once and never return or to read and comment dedicatedly or anything in between-- far be it for me to control how you spend your time. Likewise, feel free to friend/unfriend me according to how the mood strikes you. You do not need to give me any notice, but if you'd like to tell me why (or introduce yourself, in the cases of friending), well, I'm curious, so feel free!

I try to keep personal/identifying information off of the wide crazy web simply because it is the wide crazy web. And in case you care, the robots.txt file for this journal is currently set such that this journal is not currently archived by Google etc (this may end up changing in the future or it may not).

I don't ever mean to be mean or rude or offensive or otherwise a jerk (and yes, this includes being an *ist or propagating an *ism), so if I have been, please call me on it! I promise I will listen to what you say and think on it.

I am absolutely horrible with remembering to comment on things that I have promised comments. So if at any point I've said I'd comment, and it has been a week or so and I haven't commented yet, feel free to remind me! (I am sorry sorry sorry! But if you remind me, I will try my best to follow up! Actually, I'll try my best regardless. But the success rate might be higher with a reminder.)

Concrit: I love concrit. Any thoughts you feel like sharing would be greatly appreciated. Negative reviews are also fine. So are positive reviews! So are one-word comments! So is lurking! So is thinking about commenting and then deciding to try to send the comment telepathically (I do this occasionally. It never really seems to work. Ooops.)

Transformative work policy: You are free to transform my fanwork, just include a credit/link back to mine. (I would, in fact, be incredibly flattered if this happened.) I would appreciate a link to anything posted so I can coo at it and pet it and love it. If you would like to tell me ahead of time, or discuss it with me, please feel free. ['Transformative work' aka fanwork of fanwork, includes such things as: podfic, fanart, missing scenes, fanfic of fanwork, remixes, vids, and so on and so forth.]

Obligatory age statement, which is possibly no longer obligatory but amuses me to keep in my profile nonetheless: I am older than 18.
