At First Tweak

This is the original contest community for the Inuyasha/Kagome pairing. For many of us, the love we have for this series started when a girl climbed up a tree and gave into her desire to tweak those lovable ears. And although Rumiko Takahashi brought her part of the story to a close, we are sure that this special duo still has some stories yet to be told.


+ Stories can be any pairing/non-pairing but the story must focus on Inuyasha and Kagome. If you do an alternate pairing, the alternate pairing MUST play a minor part in the story.

+ Bashing of characters is not allowed.

+ Proper grammar and punctuation is a must. Feel free to ask someone to beta for you, as the majority of us are happy to help a fellow writer grow.

+ There is no limit where you post your work, but it must be original and written for this comm. Don't enter work you've entered elsewhere or it will be disqualified.

+ Flaming, harassing, picking fights, starting pairing wars, or any other such nonsense is not tolerated. Period. One warning is all you get before being banned. Even if you aren't an adult yet, you are expected to act like one. If you have a problem with someone, please come to a mod first and we'll try to work things out.

+ Drabbles are 300 words or less. One shots are 301 words or more. As much as we hate to do it, even if you've written the best story ever told, you will be disqualified for going over or under the word count for the week.

+ Themes are biweekly and start on a Friday. They end on midnight Sunday (Central Time) of the second week - giving you 10 days to enter your work. Voting begins Monday and winners are announced Thursday.

+ Voters are encouraged take into consideration story structure, grammar, punctuation, as well as the appeal of the story. You cannot vote for yourself and using multiple accounts or other measures like friends/sockpuppets to swing the votes is grounds for immediate banning. Voting is limited to comm members and watchers.

+ If there are three or fewer entries to vote on, then only first place awards will be given. If there are five or more entries, there will be first, second and third place awards.

+ From time to time there will be challenges beyond the bi-weekly themes. Topics and format to be announced as they happen.


How to Post

+ Stories must be posted with the following format and lj-cut. No exceptions!

Subject Line - Theme # and name

Title: Because it's hard to vote without one
Rating: No restrictions on ratings
Genre: We are an all genre friendly com
Pairings or Characters: Because it's not always romance, nor only Inu/Kags
Warnings: Adult content, fluff, anything you think may squick others
Summary: We realize they are hard to write, but they are a good writing exercise :)

+ All ratings are allowed. If your story is over the T rating, you must select the show to members only choice when you post.

+ Please add the appropriate tag for the challenge and your author tag. If you don’t have one yet, it will be created for you on your first post, but after that, please add it.

Sound Effects Challenge
Members who wish to meet this challenge will complete nine fics/pics, based on a series of typical Japanese sound effects (SFX) found on manga panels.

Authors! FanFiction entries must be new, specifically written for this challenge.
Artists! FanArt entries must be new, specifically drawn for this challenge.
- All entries must involve Inuyasha & Kagome as the main characters. Their relationship must be the focus.
- There is no upper word limit for this challenge, but we ask that your challenge pieces be at least 100 words in length.
- The order in which you write the prompts doesn't matter.
- The prompts are subject to interpretation. You have whatever leeway you need to work them into your plot.
- For this challenge, you can write a bunch of unrelated drabbles/onshots or you can create a multi-chaptered story. It's up to you!
- Stories can be of any setting, genre, and rating.
- You can post your entries to the venue of your choice (like FF, MM, PD, DA, AFF, and LJ), but you'll need to do a post (with the link) here at the community to have your entry recognized.
- Challenges have no deadline, so you can complete them at your own pace.
- This is not a contest; all participants will receive a banner for their efforts.

Love Takes Shape Challenge
