The National Veterans Summer Sports Clinic (NVSSC), held in Orlando, Florida, is designed to support post-9/11 Veterans in their recovery journey. Focused on rebuilding confidence, strengthening connection, and promoting long-term wellness, the clinic helps Veterans reengage in sports and recreational activities they can continue at home and in their communities.

Nationwide, VA medical facilities use the creative arts to help Veterans with their rehabilitation goals. This annual competition recognizes the progress and recovery made through that therapy and raises the visibility of the creative achievements of our nation’s Veterans.
Inspired by programs that promote healthy aging, fitness and recreation, VA initiated the National Veterans Golden Age Games in 1985 to underscore the preventive and therapeutic value of sports medicine for older Veterans who receive health care at VA facilities. The mission was clear—encourage physical activity through competitive sports for positive outcomes and better health and wellness. Today, the National Veterans Golden Age Games is 39 years strong and the only multi-sport competition in the world designed to improve the quality of life for all older Veterans, including those with a wide range of abilities. VA hosts the event in a new city each year as Veterans look forward to a reunion with their community of brothers and sisters, just as they did in military service.
The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is the world’s largest annual wheelchair sports and rehabilitation event solely for military veterans. The event demonstrates the unstoppable character of veterans and seeks to foster wider respect and opportunities for all people with disabilities. The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is open to all U.S. veterans with spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple sclerosis, or other central neurological conditions who require a wheelchair for athletic competition. Every year, hundreds of American heroes from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the post-9/11 era compete in this celebration of sport, courage and camaraderie.
The National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic (NDVGC) is a week-long adaptive golf and rehabilitation program designed to support Veterans with qualifying disabilities. Presented by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Disabled American Veterans, the clinic uses adaptive golf instruction as a powerful tool to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In addition to golf, participating Veterans are introduced to other adaptive recreational sports, creating opportunities for rehabilitation, renewed confidence, and connection through sport.
