FileWhiz is a small, simple and neat application that allows you to open and read or view various types of files. It’s a universal file opener that supports popular file formats and allows for opening over 45 file types including MS Word documents (DOC and DOCX), MS Excel spreadsheets (XLS, XLSX, and XLSM), CSV files, PDF documents, image files of numerous formats (BMP, JPEG, GIF, etc.), videos, music and audio files, and more. FileWhiz spares the need to purchase and install separate applications for opening each and every of the supported file types. It simply does the job of tens of programs, while being neat, small and lightweight.

FileWhiz is also very easy to use, as it lacks any advanced options and features. It only sports some basic functions like zooming or rotating. The interface is actually so neat and simple that even complete beginners can use it without any problem. This application is also small and lightweight, consuming an unnoticeable amount of computer resources.

Last but not least, FileWhiz is absolutely free. The only thing to criticize it might be the fact that it doesn’t support opening and displaying MS PowerPoint presentation files. I also don’t like its installer, as it was rather slow, but this might be just a personal, subjective opinion. To sum it all up, FileWhiz is a nice universal file opener and viewer that’s worth at least a try, as it’s simple and really handy.
