I've had a truly eventful April of the very much not wanted kind. In between nice things but still.

First off, sorry the AO3 link was missing for the fic I posted on New Year's Eve. I swear I put it in but LJ has this annoying habit of sometimes changing coding if you edit a post, which I had to do as I forgot something, and so it apparently removed the link. *kicks it* I have rectified the error and I would love for you to read the fic, if that's your thing. I worked on it for about 8 months and I'm pretty damn proud of it. 

Second, there are rumours that LJ plans to delete all non-Russian accounts. We have heard similar threats but it seems this time it might happen. I have imported this journal to DW and I recommend you do the same. I love this place, it holds so many good memories for me, and even if I've preserved my own journal it saddens me to no end to think of all the journals of lost friends that might get deleted and lost forever.

Author’s note: Here it is, my almost-annual New Year’s Eve fic! This time it's a slightly different take on ep. 401-402, meant to fit in with the rest of s4. More or less. The idea was born while chatting to Candygramme way back in April about how much I love the detail of Dean wearing Sam’s clothes in 401 since he obviously didn’t have his own. From there it spun into this… malodorous thing. You'll see what I mean. Also, I feel I should mention, before anyone goes off, that this Castiel is as he was shown in the beginning, a terrifying powerful ethereal being.
It’s been a battle to get this done in time but finally it came together. Phew. As always, the lovely Candygramme has my deepest gratitude for not only betaing but for being my biggest cheerleader and never tiring of asking me how I was getting on. Thank you, darling.

I didn't really manage to work in any of the prompts, this idea kinda just took over, I’m sorry, so none of them made their way into the fic, even if I tried. But! I think I delivered on the preference part, despite not being much of a gen or horror writer. Beware, this might make you cry. But then again, this is Krampus, not Secret Santa. Muhahahaha! Title is the Icelandic word for pagan sacrifice.

Author's note: Twenty years ago today Supernatural aired its very first episode. For fifteen years we followed Sam and Dean through thick and thin, love and loss, life and so many deaths. Five years after we said goodbye to the boys, the fandom is still going strong, gaining new viewers, new fic writers, new readers, new fan artists and meta writers every day. All because of two brothers who repeatedly saved the world but, more importantly, always chose each other, breaking the rules of Heaven and Hell if needed, because what is the point of anything if they're not together? It really was the epic love story of Sam and Dean, however you choose to interpret it.
I, of course, choose Wincest.
I wanted to commemorate the occasion of this anniversary somehow and what better episode to focus on than the pilot, where it all started. Or, well, right after the pilot. A coda of some sort.
Beta'd by candygramme but as always I couldn't help tweaking and adding to it, so blame me for all errors. And the lack of sex. Or anything really. But it's still there. In my mind the Wincest is always there. And if I'd thought of it sooner I might have done a coda to every episode, picturing their slow descend into each other's arms. But as it is, this is all you get. For now. We'll see. Title taken from the lyrics to Fire of Unknown Origin by Blue Öyster Club. It seemed fitting.

Epilogue 

So… I started this one a little over two years ago. Mainly because I’d been rewatching Leverage and fell head over heels in love with Christian Kane to the point that I started listening to country music. Very embarrassing. When I came back to myself (and Jensen's patiently waiting arms) I was more than halfway into what ended up as this 110K monstrosity. And, well, there's no way through but forward.

Now, Chris has featured in quite a few of my stories before, both AUs and others closer to canon. He, or rather Lindsey McDonald, has even been in some of my Buffy stories. And every damn time my muse has tried to needle him into whatever OTP I was working with. In the end she got her way, not only adding him to Jensen and Jared in my Sex and Coffee AU verse but to Spike and Angel in my Buffy AU fireman/cop story. What can I say, Leverage bit me with the polyamorous bug. Anyway, apparently that wasn’t enough, my muse kept insisting he’d get some sweet lovin’ just for him. Well, I hope she's happy now.
