Message from the Chair
Greetings from the Florida Commission on the Status of Women.
It is my great honor to serve as Chair of the Commission, alongside a dedicated group of Commissioners who represent communities across our state and share a deep commitment to advancing opportunities for women and girls in Florida. I am proud to continue building on the strong foundation laid by those who have served before us, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help guide this important work forward.
Since its creation by the Florida Legislature in 1991, the Florida Commission on the Status of Women has remained focused on three core priorities:
- Collaboration – partnering with organizations across Florida to strengthen and elevate efforts that support women and girls.
- Education – providing meaningful information and resources that inform, empower, and inspire action and
- Celebration – honoring the achievements of the remarkable women who have shaped our state’s history and continue to influence its future.
Voices of Florida Women Survey
The goal of this study is to identify key issues facing women, understand critical needs women and their communities perceive as important, build trust with constituents, and highlight the diverse viewpoints of all segments of the population from across the state. In particular, the study places a special focus on women between the ages of 18 and 24, a population previously underrepresented in research.
