Title: In the Wake of His Dreams - Chapter 5
rating: PG-13 (will increase in later chapters)
word count: ~1,400 for this chapter /  ~8,200 total
summary:  It's the summer of 1926.  The Hummels, wealthy heirs of a family that found their fortune in steamships, are vacationing at their mansion in Newport, Rhode Island.  Kurt longs for a summer romance, just like in the books he spends his days reading.  It's summer and anything is possible.
author's note: So I live in Rhode Island and have always loved the mansions.  So I do what I always do with things I love: shove Klaine in there and make an AU.   Title stolen from a passage in The Great Gatsby.  Deepest apologies for how long this took to get out.  I was extremely blocked, so let's hope that's done and over with now.  Until next time, you can find me on Tumblr.

summary:  There have been 34 perfect games thrown in Cape Cod Baseball League history.  Kurt Hummel tries to make it 35.
author's note: Takes place in my Wait For Spring 'verse.  Doesn't have to be read in order to get this, but this piece is very heavy on the baseball, so basic knowledge would be good.  I'm not even sure how well this fits into Wait For Spring, but Phil Humber threw a perfect game for the White Sox a few days ago and it gave me loads of inspiration, so I indulged.  I was going to have this take place when Kurt was in the majors, but I couldn't have him throw a perfect game to a catcher that wasn't Blaine, now could I?
