Past Projects
EWB-NOLA volunteers helped to do some house-gutting and demolition work in some beautiful, spring-like weather. That day, we tore a bunch of stuff up, pulled down the back of a house, ate some pizza, and raised $500 in the process!
EWB-NOLA hosted a table at the WEFTEC – Water Carnival in the Holy Cross neighborhood. At our table we informed visitors about the lack of safe drinking water in many countries around the world. To replicate how water is fetched in these places, our hands-on activity asked visitors to carry buckets of water uphill and downhill without spilling. As expected, the participants found it surprisingly difficult to carry large quantities of water quickly and carefully.
EWB-NOLA and EWB-UNO volunteered with Rebuilding Together: New Orleans’ “October Build”.
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, there was a high level of interest to volunteer in the Greater New Orleans and Gulf Coast regions. The EWB-New Orleans chapter facilitated some rebuilding efforts in coordination with universities and professional EWB sections nationwide.
