I've been meaning to make icons of some of my trips for a while now, mostly because I have a thing about my userpics being a somewhat accurate representation of things I like and/or are useful, and so I wanted to get a few trip shots in there. The current theiconthrone theme challenge is "all about me", so I decided I would do icons from photographs I've taken on some of my (already post-processed) trips. I have a GIANT backlog of photos :/ so some of my recent, memorable trips I haven't been able to do yet, but hey, progress!

I've also included a short explanation or note for each icon as well as a link to the original photo (where applicable), such as where the photo was taken, etc.

I'd been wanting to make these for a while, so the last theiconthrone theme challenge was actually perfect since it revolved around space! Although I kind of did things at the last minute >.< ooops. I wanted to make more but these will have to do.

The next theiconthrone challenge is "all about me" so I'm taking the time to "icon" some of the photos I've taken while traveling, and maybe a few random things as well; mostly because I talk about travel sometimes and I don't have any token icons for where I've gone, that kind of irks me. So...kind of "stock" but not actually because they weren't stock photos? LOL

I just realized that I never got around to putting a "default icon" into this icon journal. That's kind of weird, isn't it? So I've gone and put my 2012 bestof_icons into my defaults, but I need one for the few batches I made in 2013, just because it feels a little weird not to have that one. I figure I can put the "best" yearly icons in there?

So, help! I've gone through the entries and pulled out the ones that at least two people have commented explicitly about: either that they liked it or they were taking it. Could you help me pick one? :) (You can pick as many as you like of course, whichever gets the most votes...gets it.)

Hi everyone :3 I decided to do a little bit of iconning again and the below is the result. There are seriously so many amazing challenges happening nowadays that I just bit and bullet and barrelled ahead with a "1 caps, 7 icons" challenge at the7days which I had never gotten around to submitting for back when I was still active (sorry!). In any case because Suite Française's plot was also perfect for 10in30's current challenge I just went ahead and did that, too. Also because Mattias Schoenaerts. Because seriously. Did you see him in the Women in Film panel at Cannes? You should. Please ignore the fact that I ended up not iconning him much at all, his haircut here is just frustrating and everything is so dark and... I should have picked a bright shiny movie to icon first. Anyway.

I'm babbling, let's just get on with it. /sweatdrop

Also, just a little bit of pimpage for the Jane Austen battle I'm organizing over at icontalking! :)

Hi, everyone. I've been mostly not here for majority of the year [yadda yadda yadda.]as I got quite busy, and moved from my old apartment, and had a few trips to do, and trying to make some sense of a few things, etc.--basically stuff that left me without much downtime. I've missed iconning and maybe someday I will come back and do something--there are some really interesting challenges going on!--but before these get too dated, let me leave you with some unposted icons that I was sitting on before I "left".

A number of them were posted on some challenges (and an unfinished battle with wikidwitch), but the majority were for an unfinished batch of icons for theiconquest's Chapter Four, which was to make ten icons for every class. Sadly, I didn't finish the quest--but since I'm not sure when I'll ever get back to making these things, here they are anyway. (And lots lots lots of sadness at theiconquest being gone.)

Also a quick promo:

Yay more graphic novels and animation icons ♥ I recently caved and bought a hard copy of New Spring, and then digital copies of some of the first issues of Eye of the World--both from The Wheel of Time. Both are pretty okay, if sometimes a bit inconsistent, and a few parts where the wrong speakers are attributed to a line. And notably some clothing shifts at some point, i.e. Moiraine and Siuan suddenly wearing Accepted robes when they were already raised.

BUT I DIGRESS. The result of all that is a few Wheel of Time icons, from Eye of the World. I liked the New Spring art better, but I don't have digital copies of that, so...yeah. (Hopefully this batch is a LOT better than my first WoT batch...shudder.) This one is for the Bard path in theiconquest Chapter Four. Nobody else has made any entries for that particular path, it's so sad :(

(I realized how stupidly crazy I was making YET ANOTHER TEXT BATCH once I got to like the middle of this. Hence I am so sorry, these have such lazy text styling choices.)

So last year when 20inspirations opened again, I applied and got accepted. Only, real life got in the way and though there were a bunch of challenges I wanted to enter, I just didn't have time (for a lot of things, really). But this round is a text round and I felt that if there was anything I needed to do icon-wise this month, this needed to be it.
