Law School

Hello to anyone still reading this!  I have an incredibly random question, and you guys have been awesome at random questions in the past, so here's hoping.

Are there any law school students or graduates around?  Or anyone that knows any?

I've been considering law school for the past few years, and have just about decided on it.  Then I did a google search yesterday, and the results basically stated that if you go to law school you will:
1. be miserable forever
2. never have friends or relationships
3. become an alcoholic

This doesn't sound particularly appealing, or even true.  I do know some people who have successfully completed law school, and their experiences don't match up.  But i'm still worried.  If anyone has some words of wisdom to share, I would really appreciate it.

RIP.

Heath Ledger is Found Dead

I can't believe it.

MSNBC is saying foul play isn't suspected, and that pills were found all around him.
So today seems like a good time to do one. We had this 100 Years of Broadway concert at Bing tonight, because Neil Berg was apparently an alum here and he brought people actually off of broadway to come sing to raise money for the theater and music (and sports) departments. And it's completely amazing that this guy, who's famous and probably rich and so talented came here, for free, just to help out because he loved his school and wanted to give something back. And the whole concert was freaking amazing, and may have actually been the best spent $10 ever. Even though they skipped JC and Cabaret, which were of course my two favorite songs on the program, they more than made up for it. And everyone just seemed like they were having such a great time and they were all so talented and then they sang RENT and it made me homesick and miss everyone, and I just had a great time in general. And since this journal, especially recently, has been completely filled with the emo I wanted to write at least something nice and happy because this is definitely of the good. Of course now I have an urge to re-watch every musical I own, and considering I have 5 tests next week that may not be such a good idea...

Hmm.

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more emotional than logical, more concerned about self than concerned about others, more atheist than religious, more dependent than loner, more lazy than workaholic, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more cynical than idealist, more leader than follower, and more introverted than extroverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are intellectual (87%), greedy (73%), romantic (71%).

Stereotypes
Young Professional82%
College Student75%
Punk Rock73%

Life Experience
Sex23%
Substances19%
Travel32%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Liberal, whom you agree with around 59% of the time.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Middle Class. You make more than -0% of those who have taken this test, and 100% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG.
By the way, your hottness rank is 52%, hotter than 75% of other test takers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  <333
Hope everyone had a great one, and here's hoping this year will be even better than 2006 :)

Purely for my benefit

My books to read list for this vacation that cannot come soon enough. Random? Nnah. Tis the plan to get through all these because I haven't read an actual book with a cover since I got to college and that's really freaking sad because I miss flipping pages that don't belong to textbooks. If you've read any of these and think they're horrible, let me know so I can remove from list and add something else on instead.

• Wideacre [Philippa Gregory]
• Beloved [Toni Morrison]
• Song for Arbonne [Guy Gavriel Kay]
• The Lovely Bones [Alice Sebold bestseller]
• The Thirteenth Tale [Diane Setterfield]
• The Bridal Season [Connie Brockway]
• The Historian [Elizabeth Kostova]
• The Time Traveler’s Wife [Audrey Niffenegger]
• 700 Sundays [Billy Crystal]
• The Bell Jar [Sylvia Plath]
• I, Lucifer [Glen Duncan]
• Lymond Chronicles [Dorothy Dunnett]
• The Scarlet Pimpernel [Baroness Orczy Emmuska]
• Brideshead Revisited [Evelyn Waugh]
• Portrait of Dorian Gray [Oscar Wilde]

Will be back once I hopefully don't fail finals! <33
Occasionally something weird goes past my spam filters and pisses me off, but never anything as awesome as this.  A preview:
He stayed there, flashing his eyes and slowlygrating his stony hands together. Her impatience broke into wordsagain: Now YOU must come prowling round.
Also, tomorrow is my birthday.  I'll be able to buy porn, yay!  And the day after, college starts.  Very busy week.

holy shit

Is anyone else watching the news?

Vox

With many thanks to gwyntastic, I now have a vox. IT'S SO PRETTY *squeezes* I don't actually know if i'm going to use it, especially as I seem to have stopped actually writing in my LJ, but I was thinking of making it more of a real life blog type thing. So anyone who has one, join my neighborhood thing!
