ETS (Engineering Test Software) by VIA Telecom

ETS is VIA Telecom’s official engineering and service utility for devices built on VIA CDMA/EV‑DO chipsets. Designed for OEMs, carrier labs, and repair technicians, it enables device provisioning, diagnostics, and network validation over a USB diagnostic connection on Windows PCs.

Key capabilities:

• Provisioning and configuration: Read/write NAM parameters (MDN, MIN, SID/NID), manage PRLs, enter SPC, and configure data profiles (M.IP/PPP) and 1x/EV‑DO settings.
• Diagnostics and testing: Monitor registration status, signal metrics, and session activity; perform basic attach and handoff tests for 1x and EV‑DO; capture essential logs.
• NV access and backup: Read, edit, and back up nonvolatile items specific to VIA chipsets with safeguards for common parameter sets.
• RF and lab controls: Access band/class and channel controls intended for engineering, calibration, and production workflows.
• Connectivity: Operates via standard Windows COM/USB diagnostic ports using VIA Telecom device drivers.

• ETS is proprietary and typically distributed under NDA to OEMs and carrier partners. It is intended for trained personnel; incorrect use can affect service or render a device inoperable.
• The tool targets legacy CDMA/EV‑DO products and may have limited maintenance or availability following VIA Telecom’s acquisition; compatibility depends on device model and firmware.

ETS is developed by VIA Telecom and is used by 4 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 1.0, 6.0 and 6.1. The names of program executable files are EtsMain.exe, EtsServicesStatusManager.exe, ETS_launcher.exe, ETS_RFID.exe and game.exe.
