Owen’s paternal grandfather was Cpt. Robert Warren Painter (the son of Dr. Francis/Frank Fulkerson Painter and Mamie/Mayme Lee Donaldson). Robert was born in Morristown, Hamblen County, Tennessee. Francis was born in Rogersville, Hawkins, Tennessee, the son of Dr. Frank/Francis Cleon Painter and Margaret Fulkerson. Mamie was born in Hamblen, the daughter of Joseph Eckel Donaldson and Mary Elizabeth Lane.
