Joe Bini is an American film editor. He has edited the films Invincible (2001), The Wild Blue Yonder, Rescue Dawn, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done; We Need to Talk About Kevin, Queen of the Desert, Salt and Fire, American Honey, You Were Never Really Here, My First Film, and Bird (2024), and documentaries including Little Dieter Needs to Fly, My Best Fiend, The Wheel of Time, The White Diamond, Grizzly Man, Encounters at the End of the World, Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Happy People: A Year in the Taiga, Into the Abyss, On Death Row, Tales of the Grim Sleeper, Into the Inferno, All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, and Remake. He has often worked with director Werner Herzog.

His grandparents were all Italian, likely from Tuscany on his father’s side, and from Liguria on his mother’s. Joe is married to filmmaker Maya Hawke (not the actress). He has a daughter.

Joseph’s paternal grandfather was Gaetano Bini/Beni (the son of Ernest Bini and Amelia Pierini).

Joseph’s paternal grandmother was Geneva “Jenny” Frizza (the daughter of Luigi Frizza and Carmina Vanucci). Geneva was from Nozzano, Lucca, Tuscany.

Joseph’s maternal grandfather was Giuseppe Michele Giacomo “Joseph/Joe” Cerro (the son of Luigi Cerro and Maria Murialdo). Giuseppe was born in Quiliano, province of Savona, Liguria.

Joseph’s maternal grandmother was Agnese Giovanna Margherita “Agnes” Torcello (the daughter of Luigi Torcello and Maria Bertolotto). Agnese was born in Quiliano.
