He is the son of musician Jermaine Jackson and fashion designer Alejandra Jackson. His half-brother is actor and musician Jermaine Jackson II. Jaafar is the nephew of musicians and actors La Toya Jackson and Janet Jackson, among others. Among his cousins are musicians 3T (Tariano Jackson, Taryll Jackson, and Tito Jackson), singer, songwriter, and musician Austin Brown, and actress and singer Paris Jackson.
